Apple Root Stock

Description

Adaptable to wider soil and agro-climatic conditions. Chilling unit requirement is less than M9 and MM106 thus suitable to low elevation areas. Easy to propagate through mound layers, hard wood cuttings using bottom heated technique. Multiplication through seeds is successful because more than 90% seedlings are homogeneous in growth. Compatible with all commercial varieties. It is semi vigorous and induces precocity. Fruit Bearing starts from 4th year onward. Average tree spread varies from 300-380 cm. No decline in the productivity till the age of 25 year of grafted trees.

Salient Feature
Yield potential of grafted tree is high (25 tons /ha). Resistant to powdery mildew and white root rot; moderately resistant to apple scab. Highly resistance to woolly aphid. Ideal for high density planting (3m × 3m) for sustainable yield and also suitable for low chilling areas. As it is tolerant to woolly aphid no insecticide is needed

Description

It is a promising clonal selection having medium vigorous trees, dense foliage, and attractive bright yellow round shaped fruits. Round the year fruiting with peak harvesting during summer months (March-April and August-September) .Moderately tolerant to citrus canker

Fruit with higher juice content (56.92%) and acidity (7.72%). Round the year fruiting with two season harvesting will make this selection highly suitable for commercial cultivation as well as for kitchen gardens

Description

Selection having dense foliage and attractive round fruit. Bigger sized fruits (268.68 g) with high juice content (119.00 ml/fruit)

The plants are moderately vigorous and about 400 plants of this selection may be accommodated in a hectare (5 m x 5 m).Yields 3.5-fold higher than Jaffa and 2.4-fold higher than Valencia. Higher productivity per unit area. High TSS content (10.14 0B) and fruits are free from granulation
