The roots attain marketable stage in about 90-110 days after sowing. Average root yield of 27.0 tonnes/ha. Pusa Asita contains antioxidants, like anthocyanins (520 mg/100 g), total carotenoids (0.57 mg/100 g), ß-carotene (0.50 mg/100 g) and lycopene (0.52 mg/100 g). Rich in minerals, especially zinc (8.45 µg/g), iron (260.60 µg/g) and calcium (368.67 µg/g) and has high enzyme activity of catalase (111.61 g/min.) and superoxide dismutase (7.40 g/hr)

Suitable for early sowing beginning mid July under North Indian plains. Roots obtriangular in shape with purple pigmentation on shoulders and self red coloured.

It is first high heat and humidity tolerant tropical carrot variety. Harvesting Time 90-95 days . Average size 150-200 g with 25 t/ha root yield. Roots contain 867 µg/100 g total carotenoids, 405 µg/100 g lycopene and 144 µg/100 g ß-carotene

Roots contain 216 µg/100g FW carotenoid; 8.800B TSS; 121 µg/100g FW lutein; 50 µg/100g FW Thiamine and 730 µg/100g FW Niacin.
